Reflect on NOVI!

And win free conference tickets

14 november 2019

We are organising an attractive contest for our upcoming conference 'Take on the Future'. Participate and contribute to get an opportunity to win 2-day conference free tickets.

We invite you to reflect on the new version from NOVI (Nationale Omgevingsvisie) in a a format of one page reflection (maximum 500 words). As a preparation for the conference, we are developing a brief booklet about the New Planning and NOVI, compiling reflections of experts from Netherlands and internationals. This booklet will be published to be circulated with the stakeholders and attendees of this conference and The New Planning.

We ask you to write a short article as your expert reaction on NOVI adding an international perspective to it. Thus, the write-up should contain your first reaction/ reflection on NOVI and support your reflection with one or more good examples around the world. It can be an interesting planning principle, any project or plan or any programme related to visions. We expect a lot of reactions from various sectors and we would provide the first 10 reactions, a free ticket each for the 2-day conference worth 120 euros.

How effective is NOVI (National environmental and spatial vision) as an upcoming vision? What is your overall reaction about the new vision? Are there any good practices around the world/ Europe that can be discussed as inspiration during the session?

Get a chance to voice your opinions in front of a broader audience and receive a free ticket as a gift from us. Send us your one-pager by 27th November to Alankrita Sarkar

The New Planning

The ‘New Planning’ project aims to stimulate a change in the practice of spatial planning, to bolster resilience, livability and to ensure a more sustainable and inclusive development. Vereniging Deltametropool together with Delft University of Technology, University of Groningen and European Policies Research Centre, created a consortium of academic and social partners to meet the need for a new model of spatial planning for The Netherlands. — The New Planning

As a part of the dialogue, we are organising an international conference ‘Take on the Future’ on 10th and 11th December in Rotterdam and The Hague. This is the international conference that we are planning with national and international experts in collaboration with Delft University of Technology, University of Groningen, European Policies Research Centre, AESOP and INTA. We cordially invite you to participate in the conference.

‘Take on the future – Critically reflecting on Planning Visions’ is a two-day conference convened on 10 and 11 December 2019, in Rotterdam and The Hague, the Netherlands. The conference brings together scholars and practitioners in development policies, spatial planning and territorial governance from several European countries. It aims at identifying innovative planning approaches to a more resilient future and at debating their relevance for the recently published draft Dutch national environmental vision NOVI.

You can find more details about the programme and speakers through this link. We are looking forward to welcome you in December.
