Fontys University of Applied Sciences

On the 6th of May we gathered in ToekomstAtelier Oostkop to explore a student collaboration with Master students of Fontys Urbanism. The students came because they were seeking an alternative pathway for their practice experience that would allow them to engage with urgent spatial topics within the Netherlands while working in the professional field.

From this collaboration we hope to provide students with meaningful design research opportunities that address real spatial challenges, connect them with professional networks, and offer hands-on experience in tackling complex urban issues. They have created the theme “Migration, a sense of belonging” and will be working on developing research scenarios and case studies that explore spatial dimensions of migration and community integration, continuing their work with potential mentorship support and connections to relevant organizations and companies involved in spatial planning and urban development.
