London convening
Crossborder collab IFHP x VDM x TCPA
IFHP and VDM together with TCPA are convening in London on the 24th – 25th October 2023, exclusively for their members, focused on the theme of sustainable housing and living environments.
A programme of presentations and site visits in and around London, focusing on the latest developments pertaining to housing and planning, with a particular focus on climate, health & well-being
and the ever-pressing matter of models for delivery of affordable housing.
We are excited to extend an exclusive invitation to our members for a visit to this enlightening expedition in London.
As leaders in shaping resilient urban futures, this visit has been curated to offer you an immersive experience. In 2023, we are welcoming IFHP in Rotterdam to work closely with their expertise and network on the subjects of housing and delta challenges. Thus, this trip is programmed and orchestrated by IFHP and VDM together as a first exchange between the board members, with the gracious hosting by Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA). This also support our new collaboration and exchange between Deltametropolis Association and International Federation for Housing and Planning.
Here, you will have the chance to engage with an interesting network, international peers working with innovative approaches to sustainable housing, urban planning, and community development. London, a vibrant hub of architectural innovation and sustainable practices, will serve as the backdrop for this journey of knowledge exchange, networking, and inspiration.
The preliminary outline for the two days is as follows:
Tuesday 24th October (12:00 hours onwards)
- convening at TCPA for an afternoon of presentations and discussion
- site visit to East London and the immediate vicinity to post Olympic site
- group dinner
Wednesday 25th October (ends at 14:00 hours)
- site visits to Milton Keynes including a group lunch
- conclusion of the official programme, wrapping up in central London

Transportation: Mass transit will be the means of getting around to the site visits.
Accommodations: Unfortunately VDM cannot support the accommodation or travel costs, therefore you are to make you own hotel arrangements. We recommend finding accommodations in proximity to TCPA and/or on transit lines easily connecting to TCPA.
